MOVIE TRACKER APP
Nowadays, the film industry is producing a huge amount of movies each year and these films are distributed differently depending on the city or region. The rotation of the theatres is usually high, and this situation impedes the viewers to have the opportunity to enjoy the experience of seeing some movies on the big screen.
CHALLENGE

The main challenges that face our potential users are:
• Follow up on movies they want to see when they reach theatres.
• Find out the availability of films that are interested in seeing on the theatres before they leave billboard.
• With a large amount of audiovisual content we have available now, sometimes, is more difficult to decide what to see.



APPROACH
 ̄ ̄
By means of conducting interviews with users of different profiles were obtained information that confirms the hypotheses as well as adding other important details about situations presented by the users:
• Many film enthusiasts have difficulty going to the movies.
• For some of them, the schedule of theatres makes more difficult being able to attend, unlike streaming services.
• Must of the people watch movie trailers and this arouses their interest in upcoming films.
• The spoilers and bad comments mostly on social networks in many cases discourage viewers; therefore, they prefer to see the film in the first days of the exhibition.
• In general, the interviewees reported that they prefer the experience of watching the film in the cinema mainly in high-budget productions and experiences such as 3D, IMAX, 4D, Dolby Digital, etc. As well they enjoy the ambience and food options that are offered in movie theatres.
• They sometimes have difficulties in coordinating with other people and deciding what to see.
SOLUTION

The proposal is to create a simple-to-use mobile app that helps users follow up on upcoming releases in cinemas, recommend films based on the movies that have interest in see and can register and rate titles they’ve already seen.
This app will offer all the information about each film, from the poster, trailers, synopsis, Rotten Tomatoes ratings and users of the app ratings too, as well as related or similar movies.
BRANDING

The brand and name were created using a term related to audiovisual products and using the icon that represents a movie theatre screen.

This content model shows the different levels of information about every film and navigation structure of the app.

USER INTERFACE

For the development of the interface, I try to make it minimalist, easy to use, and that information about films takes the leading role.

PROTOTYPING

A prototype was performed to test the effectiveness of navigation, ease of usability, convenient position elements, alerting features, attractive UI, and then make adjustments after several rounds of review with users.

RESULTS

The project is not finalized yet, the next steps are to evaluate and find funds to finish the development and define partners to validate the revenue models to go to next phases.
